Adams Comments on Recovery

Monday, Oct. 10

Adams said Monday that his ankle was "getting better every day" but added he was "not sure" regarding his availability against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, according to Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman.

“I feel good,” Adams said, per Dawson. “But it’s just like a few things still not, like, 100 percent. More like a precautionary thing. So we’ll see how it goes tomorrow. It feels good today.”

Adams' Injury Tested Thunder's Frontcourt Depth

Before exiting the game against Real Madrid, Adams had played nine minutes, scoring seven points and grabbing one rebound. The Thunder's official Twitter account shared a replay of his one-handed dunk to finish off a fast break:

Adams has been among the league's healthiest bigs over the past three seasons despite getting banged up on numerous occasions.

Dating back to his 2013-14 rookie campaign, Adams has missed just 15 games—12 of which came in 2015.

An ascendant talent, Adams made his presence felt throughout the 2015-16 postseason, flashing the tremendous defensive versatility that garnered him a major role in head coach Billy Donovan's system.

In 30.7 minutes per game over the course of 18 playoff appearances last season, Adams averaged 10.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per contest while shooting 61.3 percent from the field.

During the regular season, the Thunder posted a stellar defensive rating of 99.0 with Adams patrolling the paint. But when he sat, opponents burned the Thunder to the tune of 107.1 points per 100 possessions, per NBA.com's lineup data.
